This Children’s message was used for "Bible Sunday", and also if you are dealing with the question of why Cults attract some Christians.

Ask one of the children to stand on one foot. Than push them over with a single finger.
Q. Why was it so easy to push you over?
A. Because it’s hard to balance on just one foot.
This is a tripod. It’s used to hold a camera steady, to keep it from
falling over.   Watch what happens if I just use one leg….
Now I’ll use two of the legs… a little better, but it still falls
over   Now all three legs.  There, good and steady, it won’t fall over. Q. What does this have to do with being a Christian?
A. Some  Christians are like a tripod with only one or
two legs. They love Jesus, but they don’t know the Bible, or take
part in church.   Some come to Church, but don’t know the Bible, or Jesus   and some know the Bible, but don’t know Jesus or take part in  Church.
That means that they are easy to "tip" over, to cause them to loos  their faith, or get confused about it. And that’s why it’s so
important that we not only love Jesus, but also study the Bible, and  be part of our church in worship.

Today is Bible Sunday
L: How many of you go to school?
C: …
L: Why do you go?
C: have to, don’t know…  to learn things
L: Well, what do you learn in school?
C: …….
L: Who do you think pays for school?
c: ???
L: Your parents, and grandparents, and neighbours.. in fact, everyone
here pays so you can go to school…
Because we all know how important it is that you learn things you
don’t know. The more you learn, the smarter you’ll be, and the more successful you’ll be.So we know it’s worth the money, and the time, and the effort… the homework, and all those years, for you to go to school.
None of us know what you will be, or do, when you get through
school, but we know that the more YOU know, the better your life will be.
Those of us here today, in this church, also know that the more
you know about the Bible, the more you know about God, the better your life will be. So we give money, and time, and effort, so you can come to Sunday school, or Pioneer Clubs, or the children’s choir.. because we KNOW that the more you know about God and the Bible, the happier your lives will be…
So I hope each one of you will come to those things, because if
will really help you, now, and through your whole life.

Ask children what the puppet can do… walk… dance… jump etc…  demonstrate….  then ask what the puppet can really do… nothing!   Only has life when someone else is pulling the strings.
We have life by the Spirit (cf Dry Bones Ezekiel 37)  – but no strings! – God gives us life but also free will
